Enabling Internships Film

EIRA have produced a new film that highlights how our project is enabling internships across the East of England. Featuring interviews from Don Shaw-Case, Knowledge Exchange Lead for the Artificial Intelligence theme at the University of Kent, Ronnie McBryde, CEO of Sustainability Monitor and Keerttana Sankaran, a student from the University of Kent, the video showcases the positive impact internships can have for both businesses and students.

EIRA’s Innovation Internships scheme enables businesses to host a student or recent graduate intern for approx 12 weeks. The internship opportunity must either align with the three key EIRA themes of biotechnology, AI and digital creative, or contribute to an innovation that will have economic impact for the region.

Sustainability Monitor (SusMon) have hosted several internships through the scheme, and were so impressed by the hard work, knowledge base and positive attitude of the interns that they recently appointed Keerttana to a part-time role as Digital Marketing and Research Analyst, a role which is flexible around her studies. You can find out more about how internships have benefitted the team at SusMon in our case study here.

Watch our short film below to hear from Don, Ronnie and Keerttana about their experiences of the scheme and how EIRA are supporting businesses with internships and more.
